Washington Federal Way Mission; July 2013 - May 2014

I want to share my testimony with you. I know God lives, he loves and cares about me and is very watchful of me. He is my Father in Heaven, I am his Son. Heavenly Father sent his Son, Jesus Christ to come to this earth, to show us the way to return to live with our Father in Heaven. Christ suffered in the Garden of Gethsemane for my sins, my bad days, and my hard aches willingly. He then died on the cross. He rose three days. He is my Savior, my Redeemer. I would have no hope without Jesus Christ. He is my Light and Life. I am so grateful for my Mother and Father here on earth. They have truly sacrificed so much for me to be here on a mission. Thank You. I know Joseph Smith saw God the Father and his Son, Jesus Christ in the grove. Joseph restored the true and living church back to this earth, and because of that, i can take the sacrament each week, and be cleansed from sin. I love the temple so much, there is truly a spirit of power there. God is over this work. I am so grateful for this opportunity to serve a mission. May God bless you until we meet again. I say that in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Love God, And Serve Him

Hello everybody,
I'm doing great. i love this work and i love to be on my mission at this time. Christ wants his work focused on missionary work. it is ever so present in the church. This last week has been ever changing .

My Companion elder Jones has been sick and so when a missionary is sick they stay home and while the one is sick the other studies. so lucked out in being able to study and what a blessing this has been to me and in a little way a prayer answered for me. i have been able to study over 50 hours of study. i know right of the bat that seems like a lot. but that was one on one time with me and the Lord. it has forever changed my life. i study Jesus The Christ, i read over 200 pages of this book. its a book all on the life of the Savior and his role in my life. I'm so thankful for his love and Mercy and Hands in my life. i also read, Our Hertiage, which is a brief History of the Church. I love this Gospel and my testimony of Joseph Smith and the work he did to bring about restoring the Church amazes me. there is no way that Joseph Smith didn't see God, Our Father In Heaven and His Son, Jesus Christ, i know that this is true without a shadow of a doubt. I also was able to study Preach My Gospel and to increase my knowledge and how to better teach the investigators. but it also helped me. i learned so much but Gods plan for me and what my purpose is in this life, and i have a better understanding of how to bring that to pass. i learned about the simpleness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, Faith in Jesus Christ, Repenting, and changing our outlook on God. Being Baptized, and partaking of that Sacrament and renewing those covenants we have made and restarting our week and refreshing our minds. Receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost and striving to keep that influence in our lives everyday, and Endure to the End. Doing what God has asked of us. its not much compared to the Savior. Remember God Lives and Loves You. I also learned about the Commandments of God. Do We Love Jesus Christ enough to keep his commandments. i Want to share a story from our heritage,
A man who crossed the plains in the Martin handcart company lived in Utah for many years. One day he was in a group of people who began sharply criticizing the Church leaders for ever allowing the Saints to cross the plains with no more supplies or protection than a handcart company provided. The old man listened until he could stand no more; then he arose and said with great emotion:
“I was in that company and my wife was in it. … We suffered beyond anything you can imagine and many died of exposure and starvation, but did you ever hear a survivor of that company utter a word of criticism? … [We] came through with the absolute knowledge that God lives for we became acquainted with him in our extremities.
“I have pulled my handcart when I was so weak and weary from illness and lack of food that I could hardly put one foot ahead of the other. I have looked ahead and seen a patch of sand or a hill slope and I have said, I can go only that far and there I must give up, for I cannot pull the load through it. … I have gone on to that sand and when I reached it, the cart began pushing me. I have looked back many times to see who was pushing my cart, but my eyes saw no one. I knew then that the angels of God were there.
“Was I sorry that I chose to come by handcart? No. Neither then nor any minute of my life since. The price we paid to become acquainted with God was a privilege to pay, and I am thankful that I was privileged to come in the Martin Handcart Company.”

My question to you after reading this is, What are you willing to go through to come to an absolute knowledge that God lives?

if you have been called to pass through the fiery furnace of Satan's grasp or loss of a loved one, or depression, or a trail from God, or whatever it might be, Ask yourselves, what does God want me to learn from this and how can i learn?

My Family, my dear, dear family i love you guys so much and miss you dearly. but I'm doing the Lords work and he blesses me because of it, and also he blesses you. you might not see the blessings, just open your eyes. and see the good around you.

i want to share of an experience, of how we can be angels sent from God to others

Week one of being in Manorwood, Elder Jones and I planned on visiting this Less-Active member and she wasn't home so we left a note and on our way back to the car, we heard "Hey Elders!" Its not very often this happens in Washington. so we went and started talking to him and after the conversation ended, we asked is there anything we can do to help him? he said joking tear out some carpet. he jumped on it and we said we can go change and be back in 5 minutes. so we went and changed and helped this member and his daugther tear out this carpet in one of his rentals, take out his baseboard, and door james and a mirror, fans and lights this in all took about an hour and half. which if we didn't show up it would of taken over 8 hours. after we were done we left and took no thought about it. Last Sunday, at the fireside, that members wife came up to us in tears and saying thank you so much for helping our family, during the course of the conversation, we found out that their son who was preparing for a mission, was deciding not to serve because he wanted to help his dad on the rentals, so the mom and the dad had been praying started praying about 2 weeks before we showed up to have it work out were their son would serve. that morning we went over there. The daughter told her brother, go and work and prepare for your mission the Lord will provide a way for us to finish the house. and she was super sick that day to. so she knelt down and prayed to heavenly father that there would be a way that they could accomplish everything they wanted to get down and do it so they would spend the night together as a family. unknown to us as missionaries, who just happened to walk by at the right time. Answered the prayers of a mom and Dad, and a sister for a future missionary. and since that time the son gained a testimony that the lord will bless his family when he is gone on his mission and since put in his papers and waiting for his call. there is a lot more details to this story but i know that this experience forever changed this families life. I'm so thankful i was worthy enough to help this family out and to answer to their prayers.

I hope you guys are doing great, i love you all. sorry i haven't put a testimony for the last couple of weeks, i want to hear your experiences and testimonies too.

Testimony: Moroni 7:13;

13 But behold, that which is of God inviteth and enticeth to do good continually; wherefore, every thing which inviteth and enticeth to do good, and to love God, and to serve him, is inspired of God.
I know that when we love god and jesus christ, we are more willing to do the things he has asked of us and to keep his commandments and to be a blessing to others, like that family.

May God Bless you and keep You Safe, God Be With Until We Meet again,

Elder Johnson
